Congratulations to the U16 Metro Rapids Boys for their outstanding performance at the Tampa Sun Bowl. The team won their group with an impressive 3-0-1 record, but were defeated in a hard fought quarter-final match. In group play, Metro FC defeated Central Pasco United from Florida 1-0, Cobb FC from Georgia 4-1, Memphis Gryphons from Tennessee 3-0, and tied TFC 92 from Texas 0-0. In the quarter-final, Metro couldn't recover from conceding an early goal and lost 1-0 to United International 1996 from Kentucky. The team is coached by Metro Director of Coaching Kevin Arcuri and Steve Carusone. The team competes in highest division of the Midwest Regional League and the Buckeye Premier League.
Also competing at the event were the U17 Boys Rapids. The boys played good attractive soccer and came away with a 1-2-1 record. The u17 boys are coached by Tony Saliba, Matt Barnes, and trained by University of Dayton Men's Assistant Chase Brooks.
The Tampa Sunbowl is one of the countries highest recruited showcase soccer events. It was held in Tampa,Florida over December 27-30th.
