Metro Rapids Boys Teams Impressive at GIT
Boys u15,u16 and u17 have a great showing

Metro FC had an impressive showing at the Germantown Invitational Tournament this past weekend. The event is a major college recuiting showcase event held in Germantown, TN. College coaches from across the country were on hand to recruit. The Metro FC Boys u17 team finished in first place of their round-robin showcase group. The team played impressive soccer all weekend and defeated Kansas City FC Athletic (KS State Finalists) 3-1, Chicago Magic North 5-0, and Memphis Futbol Club (Tennessee State Finalists) 6-0. The team finished with 12 points and in first place. The team is coached by Tony Saliba, Matt Barnes, and University of Dayton Men’s Assistant Coach Chase Brooks.

In the u16 age group, the Metro FC Rapids were crowned champions. The team played a well organized brand of soccer and defeated Tulsa SC 2-0, tied Strictly Soccer (Florida) 1-1,  defeated Midwest Regional League rivals Metro United Premier 2-0, and defeated a very good Kansas City FC Spartans 1-0 in the championship game. The team is coached by Metro FC Director of Coaching Kevin Arcuri and Steve Carusone.

In the u15 age group, Metro FC lost in a hard fought final against CUP Red 1-0. The team played very well despite being the first event together as a new team. Before losing in the finals, Metro tied Fort Wayne Fever 0-0, defeated host GSC Fury Premier 3-1, and defeated Kansas City FC Burn 2-0 in group play. The team is coached by Wright State Head Men’s Coach Mike Tracy and Pat May.
