The Metro FC Rapids Boys U13 and U14 teams won the inaugural Blue Chip Hammer Cup this past weekend. The event was held for u10-u14 boys and girls at the Miami Whitewater Complex. The U13 Boys, coached by Paul Moore and Chris Clouse, defeated the MSA Fire from Indiana 1-0, tied Classics FC from Columbus 1-1, and defeated Cleveland United 4-1 in group play. The team then won a hard fought match after a penalty kick shootout against Classics Hammer. The U14 Boys, coached by Tony Saliba, lost their opening game to MTSC/Cincinnati Soccer Alliance 1-0, but were able to bounce back and defeat the number one ranked team in PA-West Beadling Soccer Club 1-0, and Classics Hammer 5-0 to round out group play. In the championship, they defeated the very same MTSC/CSA team that they played in the group, 1-0. Congratulations to both teams on a great weekend of soccer!
